The National Archive director's meeting with journalists.

    In February 8 2011 in the “Henaran” press club took place Armenian national archive’s supervisor’s meeting with reporters. Shortly presenting archiv’s main functions, Virabyan passed on the important problem of archive – the archival digitization of documents and the creation of postal (or mail) database. The speech also concerns to the photographs, films, recordings which are numerous and evoke great interest.   By nowadays from 2000 documentary films 900 films are digitalized. In coming 2 and 3 years it is planned to comlete the digitalization of the other films. The recordings and photographs keeping in the archive are also in the digital process the purchase of the new equipments for digitalization will greatly contribute the process. more>>

On November 26-28 the NAA director Amatuni Virabyan and assistant director Sonya Mirzoyan were in Tbilisi on a business trip. On November 26 Armenian archivists visited the National Archives of Georgia where the director of the Archives Teona Iashvili introduced the innovations and the structure of the archive. It is not a secret that in the National Archives of Georgia there are many documents concerning the history of Armenia. more>>

Archive keeping in Russia and Armenia

The meeting of Russian and Armenian archivists was concerning the issues of methodology of making archival guides and of compiling archival documents.
