Working visit to RNK

On September 1 Director of NAA A. Virabyan visited Nagorno-Karabakh together with a delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Area management of RA A. Gevorgyan.On 3rd of September in the small conference room of the RNK Government, the Director of NAA A. Virabyan and director of the State Archives of RNK V. Ulubabyan signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the archives. more>>

New Publication

Recently a book was published written by Major-General of Armenian National Security Service David Ohanian on “Stereotypes of Armenian historiography"(Yerevan, Nork gratun, 2010., 124str.). The book is recommended for publication by the Scientific Council of the National Archives of the Republic of Armenia. Reviewed by: Director, NAA, Doctor of Historical Sciences A. Virabyan; head. Department of History of the Armenian people, Armenian State Pedagogical University, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor M. Karapetyan. The book examines the historical events associated with the First Republic 1918-1920, which are well known and widely discussed in historiography. However, according to the author of the book valuation of these events is not always equivalent to the reality that gives rise to stereotypes and illusions in shaping political thought and historiography, thereby affecting the fate of the Armenian people. more>>

23rd July 2010

23rd July 2010 held an extended meeting of the Scientific Council of the National Archives of Armenia, which was attended by Deputy Director of the NAA, heads of departments and other senior officials. The work done for the first half of 2010 was discussed. Meeting was preceded by a meeting with head of department directors and staff, presenting reports on their work. Director of the NAA A. Virabyan summarizing noted that the divisions in the main, except in specific cases, have completed all tasks in accordance with the program. Compared with the same period of last year, the number of requests has increased to 1500 units. more>>
